Below are essays that the activists who have been called up for police questioning wrote when they participated in the 16 Sep and 10 Dec events last year.

These are ordinary Singaporeans who have decided to stand up for their rights and exercise their freedoms of speech and peaceful assembly.

They give readers an understanding of why they did what they did and why other Singaporeans have a similar duty to do the same.
