excitement.
History will commend you on the signal
victory you have achieved for your country. Your faith in
democracy has served you and your members well. You have worked
hard and sacrificed much and you have been amply rewarded.
We
in Singapore have been inspired by your courage and
determination. We are on the road to freedom ourselves. Our
journey is long and fraught with peril but we are encouraged by
developments in Malaysia. Like you, we will apply ourselves with
diligence and integrity, and we know that one day, like you, we
shall overcome.
